Scott Howard / Senior Pastor
Pastors Scott and Susan Howard have been on staff at Life Church since 1975. Since becoming Senior Pastors in 2009, they have embraced the importance of seeing the people of God deepen their relationship with Him, as well as one another. “We Are Better Together” continues to be a reoccurring theme of their messages and ministry through small group meetings and personal fellowship times. Being part of a gospel community of believers (a church) is the essence of our identity. The question, ‘Who am I?’ is answered in a community with other believers, and cannot be answered any other way. Romans 12:5 says, “We are individually members of one another.” What is our calling as a church? To fulfill the “Great Commission” as effectively as we can. Our Goal: to help as many people as possible go to heaven. Our Method: to focus on making disciples for Jesus. Our hearts are focused on: building loving relationships; sharing the gospel in word and deed; and inviting people into the community with us. Remember - God Is For You!
Dick Braswell / Founding Pastor
Dick Braswell has been a pastor for the past 50 years and was Senior Pastor of Life Church in Mobile, Alabama, for 47 years until he retired in 2009. A former Southern Baptist, he received Baptism in the Holy Spirit in the early days of the Charismatic Movement and led his church into the mainstream of the Full Gospel Message. Life Church of Mobile emerged from a small beginning to become a growing church with a world vision that has placed and supported missionaries and mission works in many different countries. In addition, it has made a powerful impact on the entire Gulf Coast with its Home Mission outreaches and satellite churches. He and his wife, Pat, founded and established Faith Academy in 1969, and it is now one of the largest Christian Schools in Alabama with a student body of over 2000. His commitment to the Word and Voice of God has led to a dynamic church, a growing K-12 school (Faith Academy), and a busy Child Development Center. Combined, these three ministries touch the lives of over 3000 people weekly. Through his and Sister Pat's dedication to missions, hundreds of churches and ministries have been established around the world, reaching tens of thousands of people.
Matthew Howard / Mobile Worship Leader
Matthew Howard has been involved in the music ministry at Life Church for over 15 years. Presently, he oversees all departments of the music ministry. Matthew believes his goal and calling in worship is to facilitate a corporate praise and worship experience that turns hearts toward the greatness and goodness of God, and to provide an environment of freedom where people express their hearts to Christ in worship. His desire is to exalt Christ alone and give Him the glory and adoration that only He deserves. Matthew is happily married to Suzanne Howard and they have 2 sons, Henry & Porter Howard.
Angie Pullen / Life Kidz Children's Pastor
Angie Pullen has been serving as the Life Church Children's Pastor for more than 4 years. Angie has been involved in children’s ministry since the age of 19 and is a former teacher at Faith Academy. Angie was born and raised here in Mobile. She and her husband, Gary, have been married since 1983, and they have two children; Seth who is married to Andrea, and Kaylee who is married to Steve. Angie's favorite things to do are spending time with her grandkids, traveling, and watching HGTV, which leads most of the time to redecorate and driving across the Bay into Baldwin County to shop and eat!
Steven & Kaylee Sadler / Hurley Campus Pastors
Steven and Kaylee Sadler have been at Life Church since 2011 where they first served as youth ministers. From there, God called them Campus Pastors in 2017 at our first Life Church campus in Hurley, MS. Steven and Kaylee have a passion for ministering to the entire family unit and seeing families grow strong in the Lord in their home and in their community. Steven is also very involved with Faith Academy's chapels and with our Life Church ministries in other countries. They have 2 beautiful children, Weston and Aniston, whom they love to spend time with.
Brad & Kaitlyn Hinton / Hurley Youth Pastors
Brad and Kaitlyn Hinton have been involved in ministry as a couple since they were married in 2017. They helped start a church plant in Piedmont, Oklahoma where they primarily served as youth pastors. After moving back to Hurley in 2019 they were asked to become a part of the Life Church Hurley Staff in 2020 and have served as youth pastors ever since. They have two wonderful boys, Oliver and Elliott, and as a family desire to serve God above all else. They strive to point this generation of youth towards Christ as they create a culture of connection and community within the youth group.
Barbara Phelps / Hurley Campus Children’s Pastor
Barbara Phelps joined Life Church Staff in 2015 to serve as a Director of the Children’s Ministry at our Mobile Campus. Barbara & Brant, her husband of 21 yrs, has been serving in Kids Ministry for over 20 years. They have two children, Brantley and Branson. Barbara has led several programs in kids ministry from Puppet Ministry, The Bridge Mentorship program & several other Leadership programs. In 2017 Barbara has become the full-time Children’s Pastor of our Life Church Hurley Campus. As the Children’s Pastor, she strives to create a fun environment with great teaching, so that kids can learn & connect with God.
Leah Ogborn / Hurley Worship Leader
Leah Ogborn loves her first calling as a wife to her husband Riley and mother of four to Benjamin, Jeremiah, Anna-Beth, and Katherine. She has been teaching for over 15 years and enjoys spending her days in her classroom with her students. She has had the privilege of being in ministry from a very young age. Whether it be helping in children's ministry, organizing a church play, helping on the worship team, or whatever else needed to be done; she has enjoyed being plugged in. The Lord worked in a beautiful way by setting up a God ordained meeting with Pastor and Kaylee all the way in Gatlinburg, TN to begin her time at Life. She has a heart and passion for worship and wants to invite His presence in and allow Him to move freely every service! She is looking forward to what God has in store for Life Hurley! John 15:7
Woody Godwin / Missions Pastor & Pastoral Care
Woody Godwin found his place at Lott Road Baptist Church at age 15 while visiting on Sunday nights. As Lott Road Baptist Church transitioned into Life Church, changed locations, and became a ministry reaching nations, Woody and his family became actively involved in missions. Woody has been at Life Church for about 40 years. He was born in Mobile and lived in 8 mile until he went to college. He taught at Faith Academy for 28 years, was an elder for about 10 years, and was Missions Director for 4 years. Woody has been married to for over 35 years to Rhonda, and they have three sons. He enjoys his grandchildren and fishing when he has spare time.
Robby Gurley / Administrative Pastor
Pastor Robby works with the Senior Pastors and Department Heads to develop the ministry team, ministries, and outreaches. Robby has attended Life Church for over 19 years and has been on staff for over 12 years. He directly oversees Life Church Child Development Center, Human Resources, the church retirement plan, and staff coordination. He also teaches Economics, Government, and Bible Survey at Faith Academy. He has a beautiful wife, Lindsey, and three children, Lorna, Asa, and Jonah. Robby loves to fish and grill out in the backyard.
